CS2 Market Report: 6 to 12 September 2026

By the P2Trades editorial teamLast updated 12 September 2026covers 6 September 2026 to 12 September 2026

The short version

This report covers 6 to 12 September and compares 218 skins across six categories. The median change over the window was zero. That is the second flat window in a row, and it is the number that matters more than any single item below.

Underneath the flat median the balance leaned down. Of the 218 items, 18 rose, 72 fell and 128 did not move at all. Every category also posted a median of zero, so nothing here is a market moving as a block. Nothing in the window pushed prices.

Where the moves were

Rifles are the largest group we track at 73 items, and they leaned down without becoming a trend: 8 rose and 27 fell, well short of the two thirds in one direction we would want before calling it. Pistols had the same shape at 43 items, 6 up and 17 down, and so did SMGs at 12 items, 1 up and 4 down. Of the six heavy items, one fell and none rose. A flat median with a downward lean is the fair description of all of them.

The two largest gains were both Battle-Scarred pistols. The Glock-18 Water Elemental in Battle-Scarred added about 10.0 percent, from 19.71 to 21.69 dollars, and the Desert Eagle Ocean Drive in Battle-Scarred about 9.4 percent, from 63.62 to 69.58. Battle-Scarred copies of cheap skins have thin order books, so a small number of listings clearing can set a new reference price. Neither has a second week behind it.

On the other side, the SSG 08 Big Iron in Field-Tested lost about 7.9 percent, ending at 8.34 dollars, and the AK-47 Asiimov in Minimal Wear about 5.8 percent, from 53.04 to 49.95. The Asiimov is the one to keep an eye on, because it is a liquid name where a fall of that size is harder to explain away as a thin book. The bottom of the movers list runs into two percent moves, and on a weekly view anything under 3 percent is noise rather than news.

Knives and gloves

Knives were flat by median across 61 tracked items, 3 up and 15 down. The two largest knife moves were both Gamma Doppler names and they ran in opposite directions: the Bowie Knife Gamma Doppler in Minimal Wear up about 8.4 percent, and the Huntsman Knife Gamma Doppler in Minimal Wear down about 14.2 percent, which was the largest single fall in the window.

That pairing is the clue. The reference price for a Doppler name follows the cheapest phase on offer, so a swing there is usually the cheapest phase changing rather than the knife repricing. Traders should use the per-phase prices in our Doppler guide before acting on either number.

The clearest knife move that is not a phase effect is the Karambit Tiger Tooth in Minimal Wear, up about 7.0 percent, from 923.67 to 988.52 dollars. Gloves did not rise at all: none of the 23 pairs we track went up and 8 came down, led by the Sport Gloves Amphibious in Battle-Scarred at about 5.0 percent. With 15 of the 23 pairs unchanged the median is still zero, so this is a lean rather than a glove market selling off.

What we are watching

Last week's report watched three things. The SMG lean was the first, and it continued in direction but not in force: 1 of the 12 tracked SMGs rose and 4 fell, short of the six of twelve that would have made it a category move. The second was the MP7 Nemesis in Factory New, which had fallen about ten percent; this week it rose about 3.7 percent, so that fall did not carry on. The third was anything Valve ships, which our price data cannot answer, and we leave it there.

Three things for the coming week, all drawn from this week's numbers. First, gloves: no risers at all out of 23 is the most one sided category in the window, and a second week without a riser would make the lean worth naming. Second, the two Battle-Scarred pistols at the top of the gainers list, the Glock-18 Water Elemental and the Desert Eagle Ocean Drive, both up around ten percent, since thin market gains often give back the following week. Third, the two Gamma Doppler knives, where the per-phase prices will show whether anything actually moved.

The practical note is the same as last week. With a median of zero and 128 of the 218 items unchanged, reference prices on both sides of a swap are stable, which makes item for item trades easy to price. Use the daily numbers on the skin pages.

Method

Prices are Buff163 reference prices in USD, snapshotted once a day. The tables cover the skins in our curated database, normal variants only, with a starting price of at least five dollars; each family appears once, by its largest move. Doppler and Gamma Doppler names follow the cheapest phase on offer, so use the per-phase prices in the Doppler guide for real trades. All reports are listed on the market report index; the forces behind the moves are covered in what moves CS2 skin prices.
